Lear

(Particularly for [livejournal.com profile] herooftheage, [livejournal.com profile] learnedax and [livejournal.com profile] dreda):
A Drachenwalder friend of mine saw Ian MacKellan in King Lear with the RSC this weekend. {{envy}}

ETA: Oh bother, I just noticed it's friends-locked. Anyway, she liked it.
PPS: But she unlocked it! Thanks!

*snf* Oh, profound envy!

Actually, we just saw it last night. The weekend shows were sold out when I bought these tickets back in October! :)

All of my posts are friends-locked, but I'll open up this one. Let people know it's viewable.

So, btw, I shouldn't mention that tomorrow, which is pay day, I plan to buy tix to see Patrick Stewart at the Chichester Theatre Festival? ;) Chichester is only an hour from us and he's playing Malvolio in 12th Night and Macbeth in Macbeth.

Thanks for opening it up. [livejournal.com profile] herooftheage directed Carolingia's players in Lear about 2 years ago. [livejournal.com profile] learnedax was Edgar, and [livejournal.com profile] dreda was the producer.

Lovely! :)

I've been told that this RSC production is coming to New York City this autumn.

oh REEEally? That's not too far to drive. I've seen the RSC twice: Henry V in London, and the Scottish play on tour in New Haven CT.

Lucky you!
I saw him as Romeo years ago, when we we both young ;)

France gets a mention - he must have been good! Hooray France.

Looks like their Edgar wasn't worthy of much comment... seems to be a surprisingly hard part to do something interesting with.
