Vacation starts early

We had wonderful tickets to this afternoon's Sox game, thanks to hungrytiger who couldn't use them. Standing room, on the Green Monster. A straight shot from up behind Coco Crisssssp toward Home Plate. Standing through the game didn't bother me, but walking 2/3 of the way around the park to the one place they sell good beer did. PITA.

And we get to sneer superiorly at the silly fools who bailed on the game in the 7th or 8th inning, with the Sox trailing 5-0, since we came back with a lovely rally and won with a walk-off ground ball on a Casey-at-the-Bat count!

After the game we decided to walk back to the Red Line, figuring we'd get dinner on the way. Which we did, but also got distracted by a nice used book store in Kenmore Square which we'd never noticed before. Altogether a perfectly wonderful vacation day, out in the sunshine.

Like a said, lousy bullpen. I didn't realize the manager was so poor - what was he thinking? It was the second worst decision I've seen this year (the worst was Toronto pulling Halliday when he was cruising: that was in a close game).
