More good news

It just keeps comin'! Dr. G phoned just now to check on me, and to say that the ovarian tissue pathology was all benign and normal. (I had my ovaries out Tuesday, laparoscopically, since I wasn't using them for anything and they're a source of estrogen in my body which isn't a good idea. [ER+,PR-,Hr2-, for those who understand])

I told him about the shoulder thing, and he agreed with the nurse that it's normal, too, either as wandering gas or just kinked-up muscles. Weird IMHO, but normal in his POV, so I won't worry.

(ETA: But having just watched the first few episodes of Torchwood, my brain keeps hearing Capt. Jack pronouncing it "eeestrogen"!)

By intubated you mean inflated to give Dr. G better access to my pelvic area? Yes.

nope, intubated is when they put a tube down your throat.
hm. shoulder pain after surgery is totally normal, I have seen it in people who had breathing tubes though, I don't have much data.

If they put a tube down my throat they waited til I was not conscious :) Yay for general anaesthesia.

Everyone is intubated for general anesthesia, after the induction agent, knocks you out. Laproscopic procedures often require the surgeon to inflate the abdomen with CO2 to get a better look. I had laproscopic surgery in the fall and both my doctor and people who'd had it done warned me about the shoulder pain caused by the gas bubbles, hurt worse than the actually surgery, not affected by morphine and takes about 4 days to clear fully, but perfectly normal. As far as I know intubating won't cause shoulder pain but it will cause a sore throat and a cough.
