OES

PSA: The Order of the Eastern Star and my chapter in particular is my SECOND club. That means it not only is lower priority than my job, my marriage, my health, and my house, it is also lower priority than the SCA. Nyah.

It's good to have priorities.

So has someone been giving you grief about it (again)?

Yep - though it hasn't been directly, just sidelong.

Today, someone who had been adamant that he couldn't wait til our April meeting for me to deliver two car decals which I sell passed the word that he wanted to know "whether they had been lost in the mail." Well, sorry, I was out of state on Saturday, and I haven't taken a lunch hour to go to the post office in person to mail his parcel.

As I said, Nyah. If I have multiple commitments conflicting, OES gets the short straw. Period. And that's part of why I refuse to take the chapter presidency again.

I find that the nice thing about getting old is knowing when to not do things in a crazy way.

Sounds like he still needs to learn not to fret about minor things.

"This obligation will not improperly affect any you owe to God, your country, your neighbor, or yourself".
