Well, that was a waste of a lot of effort! Who's the clever concom who decided it didn't matter if the Boston Boat Show was being held adjacent to Boskone, and of course there would still be parking? I started to get a bad feeling as I came down 93 on the tunnel approach, and the e-billboard said "Convention event use Exit 23" because I was pretty sure that didn't mean Boskone. Approaching the waterfront, I found myself packed in among pickup trucks, all big enough to tow boats. I did two full laps around the Waterfront Westin and the BCEC area, ascertaining that there was no parking to be had within half a mile, and left. If the weather had been warm, I might have driven back out to Wellington and taken the train, then walked over the canal, but it's too cold for that (and the far/alone walking thing applies there too).

I suppose they might have not even paid attention, presuming that their interested populations were likely to be worlds apart -- even if the cars were not going to be.

Bummer on your behalf.

Or rather they were going to, but ended up in the $27 hotel parking instead. They arrived at ~11am.

That had been my plan, to heck with the money. Oh well, we'll see about next year.

Oh jeez. When did you try to go in? Melissa, Andy, and I left the house at 9:00 and didn't have trouble parking in the hotel garage. But it was pretty packed when we tried to leave. People had invented parking, so to get out of my perfectly legal spot, I had to do a 9-point turn.

I was in the neighborhood between 12 and 1. Shows me: I shoulda gotten up on time, then I'd have been all right.

Sorry you missed the Con. One wonders, though, at a brand new convention and expo centre that has so little parking.

FWIW, the walk from the WTC stop on the Silver Line is short and obvious, once you leave the station by the correct door (upstairs).
