Coronation was yesterday. I think it's the first one I've missed that's been in reasonable driving distance in the last 21 years! But having decided earlier in the week that the nuisance level of finding garb to fit with my arm sling, and dealing with what was likely to be a crowded little Bridge hall (they're all small and crowded in Bridge, it seems), wasn't worth it -- why then when I was given a more manageable sling, it was just sort of too late to reinstate plans to go.

I'm heartily sorry I missed some of the awards, most especially [livejournal.com profile] nazrynn's Crescent and [livejournal.com profile] baronessmartha's Pelican. (Plus a couple other goodies I'm not going to mention til I see some confirmation that they happened.) Welcome to the Orders, my friends!

I could have loaned you some Italian without sleeves, but ah well ...

We made sure we sat down early, for what seemed like it was going to become (and did) standing-room-only.
*gentle hugs* Thank you. See you on the list? (Still need to sign up!)

From what I hear, you were right on the assumption of what the hall would be like.

Allison didn't go, but Niki called me in Maine, and I annoyed Allison by calling her "Your Ladyship" and not explaining. (She got a Grant). Apparently, they gave a number of them.

OK, Niki cannot count.

She said "six or seven."

That's why I said "apparently." I was not there.

As far as I remember, there were three naked grants and two CBs: Rowan and Kelvin MacGregor.

You're probably right.

Like I said, I said it was my understanding because I was not there. She might have merged the Grants with the CBs.

Actually, the hall wasn't so bad for seating. Since both monarchs had 40+ person retinues, plus assorted other hangers-on, that was a big bunch of people who didn't get a chance at sitting down.

Specifically, you could have sat in back with the gimp brigade - several people with injuries found a spot both comfortable and near a couple of exits for quick escapes.
