My broken arm/shoulder

I just got back from the orthopedist, and he examined me (and did another set of x-rays for confirmation). Dr. Quinn says it's a pretty clean break -- he pointed out the fracture lines along the head of the humerus where it fits into the socket. I don't need surgery, a cast, or a pin; I just need to keep it strapped up most of the day and not lift heavy things. I'm free to go back to work, and will be in tomorrow. Dr. Quinn will see me again in three weeks, though he expects it to take 6-8 weeks before I am free of the velcro bandage, and another 6-8 before I have full range of motion.

So I will resume working, though my typing speed will be slower and I can't use that arm for lifting for a while. I shouldn't drive any distances til I'm out of the bandages - so if I need to be in Wilder I'll need to coordinate with someone else to carpool.

Oof.

Well, at least you have Dr. Quinn, Medicine Man to help you out. ;)

I couldn't resist. In all seriousness, that sounds like pretty good news. Surgery would be no fun, I suspect.

Oh, good. I'm happy someone else went there, too.

Oh, I bit my tongue not blurting it out in my appointment!
