Wellesley boxes

I'm pleased that [livejournal.com profile] keshwyn wanted to give my two pine chests a good home. She's just the person to take the time to replace/lube the hinges and tighten up the screws and use them for another 25 years.

She tells me that Wellesley no longer sells them to the students. In my day, our summer storage allotment was two such boxes and one other item. When did that change? They're wonderful boxes, I can't understand why they stopped making them available (did the outside vendor go out of business or something?).

Nope, still does summer storage. (Unless they're rennovating the dorm, in which case the students are SOL.) But you're allowed to have two trunk-sized boxes, or a trunk-sized box and a computer box. They give you orange sticky labels to stick on said boxes. (I don't like the label, it's never going to come off my trunk, which is sad.)

I think the boxes would have been wonderful. Oh well.
