Niece

I have a niece!

Riley Beatrice was born today by c-section to my sister-in-law and her husband. 7 lbs, 14.3 oz., 18.5" long. She is 3 years and 3 days younger than her brother. Riley wasn't supposed to turn up for another 2 weeks, but my SIL was showing signs of pre-eclampsia.

Congratulations! I hope she has help; a C-section is like any other major abdominal surgery re: recovery time.

Heh. Yes, my FIL and his wife are flying out tomorrow (Mountain View CA), and my MIL will go in a couple weeks when they come back to this coast.
