Star Trek nerd

OK, I knew I was a Star Trek nerd -- I can identify those episodes from very few cues, etc.

Today, I know it's really bad. Last night, we watched the Enterprise episode "Twilight" which takes place in part in a colony on Ceti Alpha V. Why does that planet name sound familiar? It's where Khan Singh's colony was (ST: Wrath of Khan). Of course, since Enterprise's timeline was reinitialized, the planet, which we know is M-class, is presumably available for Khan and his people....but I still think the continuity folks should've picked a different planet name.

Star Trek and continuity?

They aren't really known for it. I mean, once you got to Next Generation and Deep Space 9, some continuity started to occur (and I credit JMS and Babylon 5 for some major influence in that arena) but for the most part? With the Gene Roddenberry rules in effect that the characters must return to the state they were in prior to an episode beginning, it's sort of hard to deal with continuity across episodes, movies, etc.

(Star Trek nerd? Moi? Well, not as much as some folk I know, but ... <g>)
