but a five-day furlough to be taken on a nonholiday week before the end of the year. Date TBD with one's supervisor. Five consecutive days for salaried employees, five single days for hourly.
Hmmmmm... Just how can I be upset at the chance to undertake some of my backlogged projects?*
Paint the shed, tidy the garage, tidy the linen closet, work in the garden, visit the historical society library for genealogical research, work on the OP, fix all my iPod playlists, learn some sari drapes, brew more melomel, tease the cat, read the enormous backlog of books,......
*(yes, I grok that some of our people are close enough to their margins that five unpaid days will be a problem for them)
