Miscellaneous du jour
Nov. 29th, 2007 09:36 amJedi has one white whisker on each side. This makes him look sort of like a walrus.
Two of my friends are leaving their jobs today. It's a good thing for her, it's not such a good thing for him at least in the short run.
I really need to start my Christmas (and-other-winter-holiday) shopping. How much of the task can I foist off onto J.? We already need to buy not-very-bulky presents for his relatives we'll see in Florida. Are gift cards or charitable donations or subscriptions just toooooo dull? Also, I hate coming up with brilliant ideas on demand. (This is normal for me: I do better with organization and control, not creativity.)
Generally trying to avoid
goldsquare's pessimism about the local economy, but not being overly successful.
Some of my winter holiday cards will get letters stuck in, the ones for relatives or college friends I haven't seen in ages (and who don't read LJ). I need to write those, and in such a way that they don't sound saccharine or braggy. Probably I'll write one long one, and pick and choose paragraphs for each of the letter recipients. There are some people, especially old friends like my bridesmaids, with whom I'd really love to be in recurring contact.
Keeping up the house maintenance is like a deadly treadmill. Must. Keep. Going. So far we are mostly succeeding with the new place: we are both generally committed to a cleaner/tidier home. Even the little things like making our bed in the morning go a long way.
