I want to be a lemming too
Jul. 29th, 2005 11:21 amAbout two weeks ago, Kymus, a president emeritus of my company, told me that he's not going to continue working 4 days a week, as he's done since retiring half a dozen years ago. He's moving to California in the middle of next month to be near one of his children, and will be available only on a consulting/email basis.
Just now, Jean from the Vermont office, who has been Clue Holder Number One with respect to the library up there (while not a librarian, she knows more about that collection than I do), tendered her notice.
There have been two things keeping me here: inability to find a comparable job with comparable wages, and personal loyalty. There really aren't many people left here to whom I feel loyal.
Well, I think I'm going to press ahead hard to get this place shipshape, so when I leave my successor, if any, can understand my scheme.
