10. Matilda Bone, by Karen Cushman.

Another with a similar flavor to her earlier award-winning books about girls in medieval times (Catherine, Called Birdy; The Midwife's Apprentice). Matilda is apprentice to a bone-setter, but she would rather be a pious Latin scholar. Recommended.

I did it. I applied to that job on Monster that sounded so good. Not to jinx it or anything, but the last time I felt this good about a job match was when I applied to this place, back in '89, back when it really was a good match. This is one I don't have to fake selling myself to, it already matches my skill set (except for one program "Ledger" that I've never heard of).

Things may not work out for this opportunity, but that can happen -- at least it's got a lot of potential. Wish I knew what they think they'll be paying.
