Recreational Shopping
Jan. 26th, 2003 11:02 amWhen the going gets tough, the tough go shopping.
First to Filene's, which was practically giving away clothes. I got a brocade vest for $5, a silver mock-twin-set for $13, and, to celebrate my Grand Representative appointment, a red and black sequined evening top for half-off-plus-15%-sale. Also a nearly-transparent peasant blouse which I intend to wear when/if we manage to take a warm weather vacation.
And a set of new soft cotton sheets for the big bed.
Then to Lord & Taylor, where the sale signs showed smaller discounts but by the time you cumulate all the markdowns and at-register discounts were almost as good, for a black and red burnout velvet skirt (need it? no....), and a very practical plum wool blazer for my drafty office.
