Ow!

Yesterday, I was perfectly innocently eating Wheat Thins with my lunch when I realized there was something unusually sharp against my cheek. Yep, broke a tooth. One of the back molars. Fortunately, the dentist could see me today. (I have a terrific dentist, it's too bad her office is 25 minutes away.)

The good news: she could put on a temporary crown right away, and the permanent one will be ready in three weeks. The bad news: crowns, as "restorative work," are covered only 50% by our insurance....

Ouch! I've cracked molars twice. Once on a piece of pizza when I was in college (never figured that one out), and once when I was in England. We were crossing Dartmoor and had stopped for lunch and what proved to be a thoroughly wretched little place that happened to be the only option for many miles around, I was having one of the worst burgers of my life when I felt that nasty, painful crunch. Both times I was lucky and local dentists were able to smooth things down so that I didn't cut my tongue or cheek to shreds.

I'm glad you're getting reasonably fast response on this! Feel better fast. (And remember that unagi is soft and can be eaten with only one side of the mouth!)
