What a splendid Thanksgiving!
Our guests: my MIL Lee,
ladysprite,
umbran,
tpau,
rufinia,
rosinavs, Justin's non-LJ-using apprentice Aaron, and last-minute addition
oakleaf_mirror.
The menu:
Goat cheese with flatbread crackers
Assorted olives
Mixed nuts
Latkes
Warm baked brie en croute
Turkey (21.1 lb)
Sage-and-onion stuffing
Green bean casserole
Glazed carrots
Creamed onions
Sweet potato "souffle"
Mashed Russet potatoes
Cranberry sauce (2 kinds)
Gravy
Pumpkin praline cake
Pumpkin pie
Apple-cranberry pie
Flaming plum pudding with hard sauce
Fruit salad
Trimbach Reserve Pinot Gris
Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel
Coffee and tea
Apart from my being cross that I didn't have enough room for seconds, everything went totally well! I'm thankful to have friends who are good company - and who can also be pressed into helping when they come to dinner!
