No matter - we hadn't got them transferred into bags. (If you want to take the barrels and return them empty later, spiff; otherwise, it'll be a day or two - tomorrow evening at best - before we get them bundled up.) The barrels are in the carport.
Paper or plastic? If you're just going to empty the bags into the compost heap, then plastic would probably do. If you're going to drop 'em bodily, then paper so it will decompose properly.
I'll be shaking them out over the forest floor, so plastic garbage/leaf/contractor bags are fine. Just as long as they're not much over 40 pounds stuffed.
