Misc du semaine

I finished just now the 360 degree form on the IS dude. I think I managed to be fair, and talk about some of his good qualities, like persistence and reliability, while not failing to mention the time lost due to poor backup protocols, or his lack of initiative. Now I know why people with lots of direct reports hate this season around here. It's the damn' paperwork.

My step-SIL, Allison, had her heart surgery yesterday. We got word from my MIL that Ally's doing quite well and may be moved from the Very-ICU to the merely-ICU today.

I had a 90-minute meeting today with the company owner and the fellow from Contracts, concerning some of our intellectual property. I think I stunned 'em with my elegant presentation binders with all the topical patents and journal articles they had requested, and then some (so they didn't notice my slightly sketchy list of market leaders in one particular industry out of the three I was supposed to research).

One project at home I must get back to asap is finishing collecting the paperwork for Mother's tax returns and shipping that off to the lawyers. I'm paying them to handle the forms for me, but I still have to furnish all the earnings statements, bank statements, check registers, and whatnot. My goal is to get that to them by the end of the week - or at least, into the mail by then.

Vision of the Twelve Goddesses last Saturday was an excellent event. I even managed to hit that marvelous suspension-of-disbelief point for a little while, where I was actually in a wood panelled Stuart hall watching courtiers, instead of in a city church with noisy children running about. It really does make up for meta-events like Birka, which never do achieve "I'm there" ambience.

That's why mine was no where to be found lest our dear and patient Baron lose his temper ;) I actually wondered what would happen if a child made such a peep during real, period court. There's a research project.

Our Baron won't lose his temper over children.

Mine were never seen in court, for very good reason. Small children who are screaming are NOT happy. They don't want to be at court, and they don't want to sit still.

Take pity on the poor creatures and don't subject them to court. (I am now 5 and don't want to be subjected to court either....much,anyway.)

Well, it was time for him to depart anyway. He hadn't had his nap and I know his Mommy was tired as well.

You're five now! Getting to be a big girl!
