I don't think she heard me

I had written:
Now that there is contact info for the hotel on the Birka website, does that mean our block is available for reservations? I've been waiting for an announcement of that to be made. What will the rates be? (It would be nifty if you also put the answers to my questions on the web page, so I can point other Carolingians there.)

To which the autocrat said:
The hotel will take reservations any time, be sure to tell them you're with the SCA for the event called Birka. I highly suggest you call the hotel to verify the rates for the type of room you want. There are many types and sizes of rooms available, all with differing rates.

So, I guess I have to get the hotel reservations desk to list all the possible options til I can find the right price/options mix. And all that before I decide whether we're booking for one night or two. No idea whether we're looking at $90, or $140, and yes it matters.

AKA "I don't know and I'm not going to bother finding out"

Too bad she's not interested in doing anything to help.

Yeah - usually when you get a "block" there are set prices for each type of room in that block. Otherwise...what's the point of getting a block other than to make sure the event has X rooms? Hrm.

The way the sentence is phrased indicates a willful level of cluelessness. That worries me. It makes me wonder if the block has even been negotiated yet...

Thanks for reminding me!

I just made our reservation and was quoted $116 per night (for 3 adults and one child)

Hmmmm, she had an attack of life recently. I'll have a chat with her.

The rate for this year is $96 for a single,$106 for double, $116 for a triple and I thing it is $126 for a quad but I'm less certain of that. Those are all for the same type of room, either two double beds or a king with a sleeper sofa.

I wouldn't wait too long to make the reservation. I just called and got the last king, non-smoking room.
