Miscellaneously

I have been released! From my arm sling, that is, as of last Friday. I still get twinges in the shoulder, especially when I overdo, but I'm free! I have a sheet of exercises to do to restore strength and flexibility.

We had fun at Out For Blood. This year's show was very much Starring Miss Mina and Betty Blaze, but that's OK -- they're my favorites to watch. The contortionist was very good, but my recently fractured shoulder was cringing throughout his two pieces.

LibraryThing has just begun to support CueCat as a data entry tool. Now I'm happy we saved ours, the year Wired sent them to all subscribers. With practice, it should be faster to scan the barcodes than to key in ISBNs, for the newer books.

[livejournal.com profile] tpau, I was thinking of you this morning when I read Jane ("Amanda") Wyatt's obituary.

The NOAA is talking about a chance of snow/mix on Friday night. I guess it's time to put away the deck furniture. And to hurry and get the crocus bulbs planted. (See "arm freedom"!)

Usually, they don't publish an obituary before death, yes.

Snow? Ack! (Although Wunder is saying Thursday night.) Guess we'll have to wait and see. I must go find all the little toys and garden supplies which could be buried in the snow.

You've been using LibraryThing longer than I have, but it's worked with my CueCat for as long as I've been there. I have a “neutered” CueCat, which sends standard bar code, rather than the proprietary format they originally used, though.

We saw crocuses blooming in the front yard of one of the MIT frats on Memorial Drive yesterday. Strange.

No not actually. They are fall blooming crocuses, the sort from which saffron is harvested.

Glad you liked the show!

Yeah, it did kind of turn out that way... especially that night, since Betty was filling in for Samarra in the snake charmer number. Actually, Honey Do has as many numbers as Betty usually does, but you only see her hands as the Spider.
